    ISS and Shuttle Photos

    Here are some photos the kids and I took of the International Space Station as it passed over our house.

    The first five photos were taken with a Kodak EasyShare Z760 6.1MP Digital Camera set on manual sutter. The 06/18/06 picture had the shutter open for 64 seconds, the shutter was open for 32 seconds on the 7/4 picture and the other three.

    Heading S passing over the moon and Jupiter.
    The burst of light in the lower left corner is from a street light.

    ISS orbit #43344 June 18, 2006 - 22:23 Central Time
    Heading WSW to NE passing through the Big Dipper (Ursa Major).
    The burst of light in the lower left corner is from a local festival's fireworks show (Hog Wild Days in Hiawatha, Iowa).

    ISS orbit #42673 May 7, 2006
    Heading WNW to SE about to pass over Gemini,
    Mars is just below the two heads of Gemini and Saturn is the bright dot in the upper left side.



    Same orbit a few seconds later,
    passing between Leo and Leo Minor.
    Moon is blocked by house, light of the moon can be seen on electrical wire.



    Same orbit a few seconds later near the end of the pass,
    Jupiter is the bright dot in the tree at the very bottom of the picture.
